Biography

Acclaimed American cellist Dave Eggar created the aggregation The New Appalachians for an album of traditional bluegrass music titled 'From the Mountaintop' which the Chesky label released as part of the Chesky Binaural + Series in 2015. He is accompanied by singer and fiddle player Noah Wall, singer Jacob Baines, drummer Chuck Palmer, guitarist C. A classically trained musician, Eggar has accompanied a great many artists in a wide-ranging career including Tony Bennett, Andrea Bocelli, Paul Simon, Coldplay, Roberta Flack, Joshua Bell and Wynton Marsalis. A devotee of music from the Appalachian region of the United States, Egger recorded 17 songs for the album, which was recorded using just one microphone.
