Biography

The Intrigues are an American musical group from Philadelphia, formed in 1968. The original lineup consisted of Alfred Brown, James Harris, James Lee, and Ronald Hamilton. Their music career began with the release of their first single "Don't Refuse My Love" in 1966. In 1969, they achieved a breakthrough with the release of "In A Moment", which debuted on the Cash Box Top 100 chart at number 99 and peaked at number 37. This success was followed by another notable single, "Soul Brother" in 1968. The group's debut album In A Moment was released in 1970 but did not achieve the same level of success as their singles. Notable collaborations include productions with Bobby Martin and Thom Bell on "In a Moment", and Van McCoy on "The Language Of Love". After an extended hiatus starting in 1972, The Intrigues resumed recording in 1985 with William Nobles Sr. as the lead vocalist and guitarist. Their single "To Make A World" was released in September 1971 and was predicted to be another hit for the group. Other notable singles include "I'm Gonna Love You", "The Language Of Love / I Got Love", and "In A Moment / The Language Of Love".
