Biography

The Depreciation Guild was an American dream pop and shoegaze band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2005 by lead vocalist Kurt Feldman and guitarist Adrian Hashizume. Their debut digital-only EP, Nautilus, was released through chiptune label 8bitpeoples in 2006. The band self-released their first full-length album, In Her Gentle Jaws, in 2007. They signed with Kanine Records, who reissued In Her Gentle Jaws with remastering, and gained traction with the release of "Dream About Me" (2009), which was featured in the film Kaboom. Their second full-length album, Spirit Youth, followed in mid-2010. The band disbanded in December 2010 due to musical differences, playing their final show on January 8, 2011 at Brooklyn's Rock Shop. The Depreciation Guild reunited in 2013 and 2023 to perform shows.
