The Delta 72, an alternative rock band founded in midâ1994 in Washington, D.C., was led by guitarist, harmonica player and vocalist Gregg Foreman, who later joined Catâ¯Power. Their breakthrough came with the 1995 single "On the Rocks", released jointly by Dischord and Kill Rock Stars, which launched a national tour across the Northeast. In 1995 the group signed with Touchâ¯&â¯Go Records, dropping the single "Triple Crown" and the album The R&B of Membership (1996). Subsequent releases included the fullâlength The Soul of a New Machine (1997) and 000 (2000), all featuring the bandâs blend of punk-blues energy and 1960s R&B influence. The Delta 72 disbanded in Julyâ¯2001; Gregg Foreman passed away on Aprilâ¯21â¯2026 in Los Angeles.
