Biography
The Dayton Family, an American hip hop group from Flint, Michigan, was formed in 1993 by Ira "Bootleg" Dorsey and Raheen "Shoestring" Peterson. Named after a notorious local street, they released their debut album, What's On My Mind?, in 1995 under Po' Broke Records. The group faced legal issues and lineup changes, including the imprisonment of Matt "Backstabba" Hinkle. They released several albums, notably F.B.I. in 1996 and Welcome To The Dope House in 2002. After a hiatus, they returned with Family Feud in 2005 and continued to release music through various labels. Later, they signed with Insane Clown Posse's Hatchet House label, releasing the EP Psycho in 2010 and the album Charges Of Indictment in 2011. On June 10, 2023, it was announced that former member Ghetto-E had died at age 46.
