Biography

The dadadadys is a Japanese rock band formed in 2022, following the rebranding of the group formerly known as teto. On January 26, 2022, vocalist/guitarist Sadatoshi Koike and bassist Kenichiro Sato, both former members of teto, announced the new band name and lineup. They were joined by drummer yucco, formerly of 2, and later by guitarist Ren Yamaoka, who had initially participated as a support member before becoming a full member in April 2022. Their debut release as the dadadadys was the mini album Do Wha dadadady, launched on the same day the new formation was announced. The record marked a new creative chapter while carrying over some of the raw energy and emotional intensity that defined their previous work as teto. In May 2022, the band embarked on the dadadadys TOUR 2022, a solo tour that included nine shows across Japan, kicking off at Tokyo Kinema Club. They followed this with a second leg titled the “counter-party” version, which brought them to six additional venues starting in September. One of their notable releases +TENJIKU (2025), exemplifies the band’s blend of melodic rock and lyrical introspection.
