The Cowboy Mouth were formed in 1994 by Grahame Skinner, known for his work with Hipsway and Jazzateers, and Douglas MacIntyre, a member of The Nectarine No.9 and The Sexual Objects. Their collaboration led to the release of two albums: Life As A Dog (1994) and Love Is Dead (1995), both on the Hamburg-based Marina Records label. Despite critical acclaim, the band disbanded in the late 1990s. They remained dormant until 2016 when the current lineup, including Douglas MacIntyre, Dougie Hannah, and Lachlan Allan, resumed performing duties. A new album, Faultlines, emerged in March 2025.
