The Common Linnets are a band from the Netherlands that was founded in 2013 by singer-songwriter Ilse DeLange and singer Waylon. Both see the band as a platform for changing Dutch country musicians. The country and bluegrass formation reached second place in the final of the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest with their song "Calm After the Storm" . In 2014, they released their self-titled debut album The Common Linnets, which reached number one in the Dutch charts and also made it into the British and Irish charts. in 2015, they won the Echo as Best International Newcomer Act and released the single "We Don't Make the Wind Blow" . Their second studio album II was also released in 2015 and this album also reached number 1 in the Dutch album charts. a tour of the UK, Germany and Austria followed in 2016.
