Biography

The Broken Vinyl Club was a Welsh indie rock band formed in Aberdare, South Wales, in 2009. The group consisted of Scott Howells, Justin Beynon, Jamie Taylor, and Meirion Townsend. They gained traction with live performances across South Wales and were signed to See Monkey Do Monkey Records after a performance at Ten Feet Tall in Cardiff. In 2011, they released their self-titled debut album The Broken Vinyl Club on Acid Jazz Records. The band supported Stereophonics at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire in December 2011 and released the non-album single "Diamonds in Her Eyes" (February 2012). After Townsend left the band in early 2013, he was replaced by Twm Champagne. Their single "I Want You Girl" was notably featured on the soundtrack of the movie Svengali in the same year. The band disbanded in November 2013.
