In 1999, the Turin-based production company Bliss Corporation encouraged three of its DJs to form Eiffel 65. The band's name was chosen at random by a computer, but this industrial production method didn't stop the group from releasing " Blue (Da Ba Dee)", a worldwide hit in 1999. Eiffel 65 followed up with another hit, "Move your Body". The album Europop, also in 1999, reached No. 4 in the USA. Contact! (2001) and Eiffel 65 (2003) continued the success, before Eiffel 65, now a duo, became Bloom 06 for contractual reasons. It wasn't until 2010 that the band returned to performing as a three-piece under its own name, with the return of Gabry Ponte. Fans eagerly awaited a new album to mark the reunion, but the situation remained unclear until the band postponed the project indefinitely. In the meantime, the band spent the decade on the road, releasing two new singles: one in 2016, "Panico" , and the other in 2020, "Auto Blu". The latter, recorded with young Italian rapper Shiva, breathes new life into the old Eiffel 65 hit. The gamble quickly paid off, with the resurrected hit topping the Italian charts.
