Biography

Terje Nilsen, born on November 26, 1951, in Norway, was a Norwegian singer known for his contributions to contemporary folk and folk pop music. Nilsen's breakthrough came with the song "Mjelle," written in 1974 and featured on the album Æ released in 1977, which later appeared on his 1990 album Kanskje. Throughout his career, Terje Nilsen collaborated with notable Norwegian artists such as Halvdan Sivertsen. He also contributed to the chorus of "Pøbla" by the north Norwegian hip-hop group Tungtvann, a significant hit in Norway around 2002. Terje Nilsen was recognized as the profile of the year at Nordland Musikkfestuke in 2003 and received several awards including Blixprisen in 1997, Bodø Municipality culture award in 2002, and Gammlengprisen in 2002. Terje Nilsen passed away on March 20, 2019.
