Abigail Lapell, born Abigail in Canada on January 1, 2011, is a folk singer-songwriter. Her music career began with the release of her debut EP Love Songs in 2003. In 2011, she released her first full-length album, Great Survivor. Lapell's breakthrough came with her second album, Hide Nor Hair, which won the Contemporary Album of the Year at the 13th Canadian Folk Music Awards in 2017. She also received a nomination for Contemporary Singer of the Year. In 2019, she released Getaway, winning English Songwriter of the Year at the 15th Canadian Folk Music Awards in 2020. Her subsequent albums include Stolen Time (2022) and Lullabies (2023), which won Children's Album of the Year at the 20th Canadian Folk Music Awards in 2025. In 2024, her album Anniversary, featuring collaborations with Great Lake Swimmers, was nominated for a Juno Award for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year.
