The founding members are Peter Tetteroo, Hans van Eijck, Polle Eduard, Joop Blom and Cees Kalis. The band moves between beat, pop, rock and later soft rock. Tee Set released their first singles in the Netherlands at the end of the 1960s. International fame came in 1969 with the title "Ma Belle Amie". The song was produced by Jerry Ross and became a worldwide hit. It reached number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the USA and also achieved high chart positions in the UK and several European countries. The song is published in various languages and covered several times. In 1970, the album Ma Belle Amie was released, building on the success of the single. Further releases followed, including Emotion (1970) and In the Morning of My Days (1971). The later productions moved more in the direction of soft rock and pop. In 1972, the single "She Likes Weeds" reached number 1 in the Dutch charts. In 1974, Peter Tetteroo temporarily leaves the band, but remains associated with the project as a central figure. The line-up changed several times during the 1970s.
