Tamara Andreyevna Milashkina, born on September 13, 1934, in Astrakhan, Russian Federation, was an operatic soprano. She began her musical education at the Astrakhan Music College in 1953 and later studied at the Moscow Conservatory under Elena Katulskaya. Milashkina's breakthrough came when she received the gold medal of the International Youth Festival in 1957. In 1958, she joined the Bolshoi Theatre, making her debut as Tatyana in Tchaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin". She performed internationally at venues such as La Scala and the Metropolitan Opera. Milashkina received the title People's Artist of the USSR in 1973 and the Glinka State Prize in 1982. After leaving the Bolshoi Theatre in 1989, she continued to perform internationally in France, Japan, and the US, among others. She passed away on January 10, 2024, in Vienna.
