Takanori Iwata (born on March 6, 1989 in Nagoya, Japan), is a Japanese singer and dancer. Influenced by American dance documentary Rize in high school, he began performing in Dancing Crew JADE while he was in college, accepted into award-winning J-pop vocal and dance groups Sandaime J Soul Brothers and EXILE in 2010 and 2014 respectively. In 2016, he made his major film debut in Shokubutsu Zukan, earning several high-profile awards for his performance, leading to him focusing predominantly on acting over the next four years. An accomplished visual artist, in 2021 Iwata announced his solo debut with singles âkorekaraâ (2021) âReadyâ (2022) and âOnly One For Meâ (2022) featuring his hand-painted artwork. In October, he was awarded the MTV Dance the World Award at the MTV Video Awards, releasing his debut album The Chocolate Box on October 12, 2022, ahead of his first solo Japanese tour. Releasing several non-album singles including âBREAK THE LAWâ (2023) and âMonochrome Worldâ (2023), Iwata unveiled âJust You and Meâ, âParadiseâ and âMVPâ in early 2024, ahead of his second album ARTLESS, which was released on March 5. In December 2025, he released his third album Space Cowboy, featuring tracks like "Torico" and "Phone Number".
