Biography

Suzanne Danco, born on January 22, 1911 in Brussels, Belgium, was a soprano known for her performances in Mozart operas and French repertoire. She studied at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and won a singing competition in Vienna in 1936. Danco made her concert debut in Italy in 1940 and performed in Così fan tutte at Gênes the following year. Throughout the 1940s and 1950s, she appeared on major European stages, including roles such as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni. She also performed at prestigious festivals like Aix-en-Provence and Glyndebourne. Danco's repertoire included works by Berlioz, Ravel, and Debussy. Notable recordings include Les Nuits d'été with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Danco passed away on August 10, 2000, in Fiesole, Italy.
