Biography
Sub Oslo is an improvisational band from Denton, Texas, formed in 1996 by roommates Miguel Veliz and Quincy Holloway. Originally focusing on psychedelic and ambient dub music, the duo released a self-titled 12" EP, which is now out of print. They followed this with their debut album, Dubs in the Key of Life (2000), and The Rites of Dub (2002). Sub Oslo was known for unique live performances that incorporate a visual artist and a live mix engineer. They have toured extensively through the West Coast and Japan, and their music was featured in the Xbox video game Brute Force. The band has shared the stage with influential artists such as Mad Professor, Steel Pulse, and The Roots, as well as Fugazi and DJ Krush.
