Biography

Studio Rio is a recording project founded by Grammy Award-winning production and songwriting duo the Berman Brothers made up of siblings Frank and Christian Berman. Since the early 1990s, the brothers have been honored with two BMI Awards, over 90 gold and platinum awards, a Grammy, and more. Their resume includes work with Hanson, the Real McCoy, Cher, The Baja Men, and many others. The origins of the Studio Rio project began in 2006 when the Berman Brothers co-produced the benefit album Rhythms del Mundo: Cuba, which featured musical performances by members of the Buena Vista Social Club, Sting, Maroon 5, Coldplay, and many others. Eight years later, they returned to the concept with the release of Studio Rio Presents: The Brazil Connection. This time, they went back to original studio recordings by Marvin Gaye, Andy Williams, Johnny Nash, Dave Brubeck, Bill Withers, Sly & the Family Stone, and others, and extracted their original vocals. Those vocals were added to musical backing tracks that were Brazilian-flavored, creating a new and exciting reinterpretation of classic songs. The album was a commercial and critical success
