Biography

Streets, an American hard rock band, was formed in 1982 by Steve Walsh after he left Kansas. The group consisted of Steve Walsh on vocals and keyboard, Mike Slamer on guitar, Billy Greer on bass, and Tim Gerth on drums. Streets' debut performance occurred on January 22, 1983, at Charlie Daniels’ Annual Volunteer Jam IX in Nashville. Their first album, 1st, was released later that year under Atlantic Records. The album featured the single "If Love Should Go", which reached number 87 on the Hot Billboard charts and remains their highest-charting song. Despite positive reviews, 1st only reached number 163 on the US Album Charts. Streets toured extensively in 1983 and 1984, often opening for Loverboy. Their second studio album, Crimes In Mind, released in 1985, featured collaborations with songwriter Randy Goodrum but failed to achieve commercial success. The band disbanded later that year due to financial struggles. A live album, King Biscuit Flower Hour Presents Streets, recorded during their promotion tour for 1st and released in 1997, showcased their live performances.
