Biography
Stonefunkers is a Swedish funk, soul, and rap band formed in Gothenburg in 1984 by brothers Emrik Larsson and Torsten Larsson. The group released its debut single, "Turn It Up", in 1988 on Radium Records, followed by its debut studio album, Hard As Kryptonite, in 1989. After signing with Metronome WEA, they released an updated version of their debut album, Harder Than Kryptonite, in 1991. The band released its most commercially successful album, No Problem 94 - Non-believers Stand Back!, in 1993, which peaked at number 19 on the Swedish charts. They subsequently released the albums Material (1995) on Breakin' Bread and Outstanding (1998) on Lemon Records. After disbanding in the late 1990s, the band reformed in 2009 for live performances and later released the archival compilation album Stonefunkers Hidden Tracks pt. 1 (2019) on their own label.
