Steffen Jürgens, born on February 14, 1968, in Greifswald (am Greifswalder Bodden), Germany, is a German musician known for his work as a singer. He began his music career under the stage name Bernd Berger, releasing his first album Leben um zu lieben in 1999. He released subsequent singles "Ich setze alles auf dich" and "Lass Verbotenes gescheh'n". His breakthrough came in 2003 when he signed with IX Records and released the Maxi-CD Liebe auf den ersten Blick, which topped Uwe Hübners Hitparade. In 2004, Jürgens adopted his real name for public performances and released the album Ich bin wieder da. His collaboration with producer Robert Meister resulted in the 2006 album Sehnsucht and the notable single "100.000 Mal" (2006). He released the single "Niemals" from the 2007 album Gehen oder bleiben. Jürgens continued to release albums, including Gefährlich ehrlich (2009) and Echt (2017).
