Stage Dolls, a Norwegian hard rock band from Trondheim, was formed in 1983. The initial lineup included Erlend Antonsen on drums and Terje Storli on bass, with Torstein Flakne joining as the lead guitarist. In January 1983, the trio adopted the name Stage Dolls. Their first album, Soldier's Gun, was released in late 1985 following a successful nationwide tour supporting Norwegian band TNT. Antonsen left the band in 1985 and was replaced by Steinar Krokstad. The band's second album, Commandos, peaked at number 8 on the Norwegian charts in 1986 and gained significant airplay on college radio in the US with the title track "Commandos". Their self-titled third album, released in 1988, reached number 3 in Norway, with the single "Wings of Steel" charting at number 10. The band's success continued with the release of Stripped in 1991, which peaked at number 5 in Norway and featured the single "Love Don't Bother Me", accompanied by a music video featuring English model Kate Moss. In 1989, Stage Dolls achieved their highest international chart position with "Love Cries" reaching number 46 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band has released several other albums, including Dig in 1997 and Always in 2010.
