Biography

Born in London on October 15, 1984, Jessica Lois Ware is the younger sister of actress Hannah Ware. With a degree in literature, she began working in journalism and television, in a production company where her colleague was Erika Leonard, known for the novel Fifty Shades of Grey, published under the name E.L. James. Eager to sing, she joined Jack Peñate's band as a backing vocalist on an American tour, before collaborating with producer SBTRKT in 2010. The following year, Jessie Ware released her first solo single "Strangest Feeling", following a duet with Sampha on the track "Valentine". The album Devotion, released in August 2012, revealed the minor hit "Wildest Moments" (No. 46) as its third single, while the electro-pop compendium climbed to No. 5 in the sales charts and was nominated for the Mercury Prize. After touring, Jessie Ware is back in the studio for second album Tough Love (2014), charting at No. 9 and featuring a track written by Ed Sheeran ("Say You Love Me"). The artist then collaborates on Nicki Minaj's album The Pinkprint, and in return offers the song "New Man" to Ed Sheeran. Three silent years pass before the release of her third album Glasshouse (2017), charting at No. 7 and featuring contributions from Francis and the Light, Cashmere Cat, Julia Michaels and Ed Sheeran. An off-album single, "Overtime", was released in 2018, a year and a half before the release of the disco-tinged album What's Your Pleasure? (2020), charted at No. 3 and featuring the singles "Adore You", "Spotlight" and "Save a Kiss", among others. Jessie Ware's fifth album, That! Feels Good! produced by James Ford and Stuart Price, encompasses the disco, soul, R&B, electronic and pop styles of the "Free Yourself" performer, remixed by Paul Woolford, Eats Everything and Melanie C. Despite the lack of new hits on singles, Jessie Ware enjoyed success with her albums, all of which charted in the top 10. In 2026, Superbloom reached #2 in the UK, with "I Could Get Used to This" and "Ride" as the main singles.
