Sitiados, a Portuguese band formed in Lisbon in 1990, was composed of José Resende (guitar), João Aguardela (vocals), Mário Miranda (bass), and Fernando Fonseca (drums). The group initially started as a new wave band but evolved to incorporate strong influences from folk music. Their breakthrough came with the release of their debut album Sitiados in 1992, which included the popular track "Vida de Marinheiro" and achieved gold status, selling over 40,000 copies. The band's second album, E agora...!?, was released in 1993 and featured collaborations with notable artists such as Viviane and Paulo Bragança. In 1996, they released another self-titled album with electronic elements. The band's final studio release was Mata-me Depois in 1999, which showcased a more pop-oriented sound and featured the single "Será que ela vem". Sitiados disbanded in 2000 and João Aguardela passed away in 2009.
