Simone Andrea Denny, born and raised in Toronto, Canada, is a Canadian singer who discovered her passion for music while competing in a talent show in grade six. She quickly developed a following in local bands and landed the role of "Mama" in the Canadian production of Mama, I Want to Sing! opposite Deborah Cox. Denny performed as a backing vocalist for artists such as Maestro Fresh Wes and Devon. In 1997, DJ Chris Sheppard and Brad Daymond formed Love Inc., with Denny as a full member. Their self-titled debut album in 1998 included the chart hits "Broken Bones" and "You're a Superstar", with the former winning the Juno Award for Dance Recording of the Year at the Juno Awards of 1999. The band's follow-up album Into the Night (2000) was poorly received, though it did win the Juno for Dance Recording of the Year in 2001. Denny then collaborated with Widelife, performing on their singles "I Don't Want You" and "All Things (Just Keep Getting Better)", which served as the theme song for the original version of Queer Eye. In 2005, she released her first solo single "Cliché". Denny continued to appear as a featured vocalist on several other dance singles before finally releasing her own full-length debut album, The Stereo Dynamite Sessions, Vol. 1, in 2015.
