Rojo is a Mexican Christian rock band formed in 2000 in Hermosillo, Sonora, by bassist Emmanuel Espinosa and drummer Rubén González, with guitarist Oswaldo Burruel and vocalist Annette Moreno joining shortly thereafter. The group debuted in Los Angeles at a youth congress hosted by Luis Enrique Espinosa, releasing their selfâtitled album Rojo in 2001, which achieved Gold certification in 2003. In 2003 the band issued 24/7, followed by DÃa de Independencia in 2004, both bolstered by collaborations with Juan Salinas and Jesús Adrián Romero. A series of live releases-Pasaporte (2005), Edición Especial (2006), and Navidad (2006)-expanded their catalog, while a concert DVD from Buenos Aires captured their touring reach. The breakthrough studio album Con el Corazón en la Mano appeared in 2007, accompanied by a remix collection Remixes y Más (2008) and a tour DVD. In 2009 they released Apasionado Por TÃ, and a decadeâanniversary compilation Rojo 10 Años followed in 2010. After a farewell tour titled âADios Graciasâ in 2012, the band ceased activities having earned six Arpa Awards and received three Latin Grammy nominations. Rojo returned with new studio material in the late 2010s, culminating in A Partir de Hoy (2018) and Alumbras Mi Vida (2022), featuring songs such as "Abres Camino" and reaffirming their contemporary worship-rock direction while maintaining Espinosaâs role as producer and principal songwriter.
