Brother Cane, formed in Birmingham, Alabama in 1990, was founded by lead vocalist Damon Johnson, bassist Glenn Maxey, guitarist Roman Glick, and drummer Scott Collier. The 1993 single "Got No Shame" from debut, Brother Cane, peaked at 2 on Mainstream Rock chart. Subsequent releases included Seeds (1995), the Number 1 single "And Fools Shine On", and Wishpool (1998), whose single "I Lie in the Bed I Make" reached Number 1 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart for four weeks. After disbanding in 1998, Brother Cane reformed in 2005, 2011, and 2022. In April of 2026, the group released Magnolia Medicine, their first studio album in 28 years.
