Shirley Jones (September 22, 1953) is an American singer who rose to fame in the late 1970s as the lead vocalist of the R&B trio The Jones Girls. Born in Detroit, Michigan, she began singing gospel music alongside her sisters Brenda and Valorie, with whom she later formed The Jones Girls. After signing with GM Records in 1970, the trio scored a few hits in the late 1970s and early 1980s before disbanding in 1984. Following the group's dissolution, Shirley Jones signed a solo contract with Philadelphia International Records and made her official debut in 1986 with the single "Do You Get Enough Love." The track reached the top of the US R&B charts and was followed by the Top 10 single "Always in the Mood," the title track of her 1986 studio debut. With You, her sophomore effort, appeared in 1994. Despite suffering the loss of both her sisters during the ensuing decades, Shirley Jones continued to perform live and tour throughout the United States, honoring the legacy of The Jones Girls. In 2022, she teamed up with fellow soul music legend Lenny Williams on the track "Can't Nobody," which reached Number 30 on the Adult R&B Songs chart.
