ATARASHII GAKKO!, a Japanese dance and vocal performance unit formed in 2015, was formalized under joint management by Asobisystem, Twin Planet, and TV Asahi Music. The group debuted in Japan in June 2017 with the single “Dokubana” under Victor Entertainment, followed by their first album Maenarawanai on 20 March 2018 and the subsequent release of Wakage ga Itaru on 6 March 2019. In 2020 they expanded their repertoire with the singles “OTONABLUE” and “Koibumi”, and in 2021 released the EP SNACKTIME and the single “NAINAINAI”, which marked their worldwide debut under 88rising in January 2021. The year 2022 saw the remix single “Pineapple Kryptonite Remix”, while 2023 brought the EP 一時帰国, the single “じゃないんだよ”, and a U.S. television debut performing “Tokyo Calling” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on December 7, 2023. Their 2024 releases include the album AG! Calling on 7 June 2024 and the single “Toryanse” on 26 January 2024, followed by “HELLO (from The Tiger’s Apprentice)” on 9 February 2024, “Change” on 19 July 2024, and the forthcoming “One Heart” on 13 March 2025. The group has performed at Nippon Budokan on 9 January 2024 and participated in the matsuri ’25: Japanese Music Experience Los Angeles lineup, solidifying their presence in both domestic and international pop scenes.
