Shawn James Pittman, born October 13, 1974 in Talihina, Oklahoma, is an American blues rock singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and record producer. Growing up in Noble, Oklahoma, Pittman's early musical influences included his grandmother's boogie-woogie piano playing and his father's collection of Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry recordings. He began playing guitar in his early teens and moved to Dallas at 17 to pursue a career in music. Pittman commenced his professional music career in January 1993, releasing his debut album Burnin' Up in 1998 on Cannonball Records. The following year, he released Something's Gotta Give, also on Cannonball Records. He has collaborated with notable musicians such as Susan Tedeschi and Double Trouble.
