Biography

Sharon "Shari" Ulrich, born on October 17, 1951 in San Rafael, California, is a Canadian/American singer. She began playing violin at age nine and moved to British Columbia at 18. Ulrich's career started with performances on the Vancouver coffeehouse circuit in the early 1970s. In 1973, she formed Pied Pumkin with Rick Scott and Joe Mock. After touring with Valdy as part of The Hometown Band, Ulrich went solo in 1978. Her debut album Long Nights was released in 1980, followed by One Step Ahead (1981) and Talk Around Town (1982). She won the Juno Award for Most Promising Female Vocalist of the Year in 1981. Ulrich collaborated with Bill Henderson and Roy Forbes to form UHF in 1989, releasing UHF. In 2009, she joined Barney Bentall and Tom Taylor to form BTU, releasing 'Live' at Cates Hill.
