Biography

Lilly Marie Pettersson, known professionally as Shanta Liora and formerly as Marie Picasso, was born on April 24, 1979, in Sweden. She gained initial fame as a housemate on Big Brother in 2002. In 2007, she won the fourth series of the Swedish singing competition Idol, where she sang "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera and defeated Amanda Jenssen. Following her victory, Shanta Liora signed with Sony BMG and released her debut single "This Moment," which was certified double platinum. Her debut album The Secret also debuted at Number 1 and held the top spot for three consecutive weeks, becoming certified gold after just one week on the chart and eventually reaching platinum status.
