Biography

Seely was a dream pop band from Atlanta, Georgia, formed in 1994 by architecture students Steven Satterfield and Lori Scacco. The duo added Joy Waters and Eric Taylor to complete the lineup. Seely released their debut album Parentha See through Third Eye Records. They quickly signed with Too Pure, becoming the first American band on the British label. Their re-recorded debut Julie Only, produced by John McEntire, was released in 1996 and received critical acclaim. Seely toured internationally, supporting acts like Yo La Tengo and GusGus, and released additional albums, Seconds (1997) and Winter Birds (2000). Despite positive reviews for their final album, the band disbanded later that year. Post-Seely, Satterfield formed Silver Lakes with Jim Prible, while Lori Scacco released her solo album Circles.
