Biography

American guitarist born in Florida in 1954, Scott Henderson is best known as the founder, with bassist Gary Willis, of the jazz-rock band Tribal Tech, which released a dozen albums between 1985 and 2011. Under his own name, the blues- and funk-loving musician made a number of excellent recordings, including Dog Party (1994), Tore Down House (1997) and Well To The Bone (2002), and took part in numerous sessions for Jean-Luc Ponty, Chick Corea, Joe Zawinul and Jeff Berlin. He also formed the trio Vital Tech Tones (VTT), releasing two albums in 1998 and 2000. A student at the Guitar Institute of Technology, he went on to teach at the same institution, renamed Musicians Institute. In 2015, ten years after the double album Live!, he released his fourth solo album, Vibe Station.
