Giblack (also styled G Black) is the stage name of Gustavo Ãlvarez Cerna, a Colombian singer associated with the champeta scene whose recorded output in the 2020s mixed club-ready rhythms with the melodic hooks of Colombiaâs Caribbean coast. He appeared on tracks tied to the El Monigote project in 2021, then continued releasing standalone songs such as âVive la Vidaâ (2023) and âBatelo (Aleteo)â (2024). In early 2026 he took a major step into heritage repertoire by partnering with Discos Fuentes on Homenaje Al Rey Del Carnaval, a Joe Arroyo tribute framed around Carnaval-season energy in Barranquilla. The seven-track set reworked Arroyo classics with champeta-forward arrangements, and Giblack highlighted âEl Paga Patoâ as the centerpieceâhis take on Arroyoâs âEl Tratoââalongside cuts like âAy Papá (Champeta)â and âEste Ritmo Se Pegó (En Barranquilla Coleto).â
