Sétima Legião, a Portuguese pop band from Lisbon, was formed in 1982 under the influence of New Wave bands like Joy Division. Their album Mar d'Outubro (1987) achieved silver status with over 15,000 units sold in Portugal. This was followed by De Um Tempo Ausente (1989), which sold over 25,000 copies and earned a gold certification. The album featured guest vocals from Tereza Salgueiro of Madredeus. In 1994, the band released their live album Auto de Fé, which was considered their farewell record after Rodrigo Leão left to pursue a solo career. However, they returned in 1998 with an album that incorporated electronic music and folk samples from the 1970s. Sétima Legião celebrated their 30th anniversary with a compilation Memória (2012), and a series of concerts culminating in a final performance at Coliseu do Porto on October 11, 2012.
