Biography

Real name Hugo Papin, the Nantes-born rapper takes his pseudonym Coelho in reference to Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho, author of L'Alchimiste. He made his debut in 2017 with the Philadelphia EP, produced by his brother BeDar. He followed this up with the albums VanitÃ©s (2018), OdyssÃ©e (2020) and Un jour de moins (2022), all released on the Mezoued Records label, founded by Tunisiano. In 2023, his participation in season 2 of the Nouvelle Ãcole TV show brought him to the attention of a wider audience. He reached the final of the contest against Yuz Boy, and distinguished himself with the track "ArrÃªt du cÅur" featuring Kalash Criminel. He followed this up with "Soundcheck " and "AMF - Nouvelle Ã©cole". In 2024, he returned with the album Un jour sans fin, marked by a more accomplished artistic direction, between introspective rap and sung melodies. The project includes the tracks "Sans lendemain", "MaelstrÃ¶m" and collaborations with Ruthee and WarEnd.
