Biography

Sarah MacDougall (born in Malmö, Sweden) is a Canadian folk, acoustic, Americana, and folk rock singer-songwriter and musician from Whitehorse, Yukon. MacDougall moved to Vancouver as a teenager to study music and later settled in Toronto. MacDougall released the EP I Don't Want To Be Alone Anymore (2008) for a tour of the United Kingdom. Her debut album, Across the Atlantic (2009), featured songs from the EP. She recorded the album The Greatest Ones Alive (2011) in Vancouver and Whitehorse with Matt Rogers and Bob Hamilton. Released via Rabbit Heart Music, the album won Roots Solo Recording of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards. MacDougall received a nomination for Songwriter of the Year for the song “Sometimes You Lose, Sometimes You Win”. Her discography featured the albums Grand Canyon (2015) and All the Hours I Have Left to Tell You Anything (2018), the latter produced by Marcus Paquin. In 2019, MacDougall toured with Ivan Coyote.
