Run Girls, Run! was formed in Tokyo on 30 July 2017 by voice actresses Coco Hayashi, Yuuka Morishima and Nanami Atsugi after winning a joint audition by Avex and 81 Produce; the trio debuted as a unit that also performed as characters in Wake Up, Girls! New Chapter. Their breakthrough came with the single "Slide Ride" on 28 February 2018, serving as the opening theme for Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody, followed by "Kiratto Start" in May 2018. In 2018 and 2019 they released a string of albums and EPs, including "Break the Blue!!", "Diamond Smile" and "Run Girls, World!" and contributed all opening themes for the anime Kiratto Pri Chan, in which they voiced Mirai Momoyama, Rinka Aoba and Mel Shido. The group signed with Avex Pictures and 81 Produce, and continued to release music such as Get Set, Go! on 6 April 2022. On 25 July 2022, the official website announced that Run Girls, Run! would disband on 31 March 2023, marking the end of their sixâyear career.
