During their career, Royal City toured extensively across Canada, including a performance at the South by South West festival in 2002 and notable collaborations with Leslie Feist, Sufjan Stevens, and Final Fantasy. In 2004, they released their final album Little Heart's Ease. After disbanding later that year, members pursued various projects. In 2009, Asthmatic Kitty Records released a collection of outtakes and b-sides titled Royal City.
