Rose Melbergis is an American musician and songwriter from Sacramento, California. She gained early recognition at the International Pop Underground Convention in Olympia, Washington in August 1991, leading to the formation of Tiger Trap, an all-female band with a cult following in indie-pop circles. Melberg has also been part of various bands including Go Sailor, Brave Irene, Imaginary Pants, Knife Pleats, and Olivia's World. Her solo debut album, Portola, was released in 1998. Subsequent releases include Cast Away the Clouds (2006), which featured a tour opening for Belle and Sebastian, and Homemade Ship (2009). The track "Old Days" from Homemade Ship was notably highlighted as Song of the Day by NPR Music.
