Rosana Arbelo Gopar, born 24â¯Octoberâ¯1963 in Arrecife, Lanzarote, Canary Islands, is a Spanish singer who began playing guitar at age five and composing at eight. After relocating to Madrid at twenty, she studied harmony and guitar, and later earned a Masterâs in literature and linguistics from the Complutense University of Madrid, enhancing her songwriting craft. Her breakthrough came with the 1996 single "El Talismán" from the album Lunas Rotas, which achieved diamond status in Spain and sold over three million copies worldwide, earning her the 1996 Premio Ondas for Best New Artist. Rosana Arbelo Gopar released Luna Nueva (1998), Rosana (2001), Marca Registrada (2003), Magia (2005), and De Casa a Las Ventas (2007), each charting within the top ten in Spain and spawning hits such as "Pa' ti no estoy" and "Aquel Corazón". She transitioned to Warner Music Spain after Universal, and continued with A las Buenas y a las Malas (2009), ¡Buenos DÃas, Mundo! (2011) â a Latin Grammyânominated album â and 8 Lunas (2013). Rosana Arbelo Gopar toured extensively across Europe, Latin America, and the United States, performed at the Viña del Mar Festival (2012) earning silver and gold torches, and released En la Memoria de la Piel (2016).
