Rohn Lawrence was an American jazz musician, guitarist, and vocalist, born around 1960 in New Haven, Connecticut. He started playing guitar at a young age, transitioning to electric guitar at the age of eleven. Lawrence gained local recognition in funk bands and collaborated with notable musicians like Marion Meadows, Najee, Freddie Jackson, Dianne Reeves, George Duke, Alex Bugñon, and Jonathan Butler. As a professional musician, he contributed to albums and tours by artists such as Lonnie Liston Smith, Norman Connors, Will Downing, Boney James, and Andrew "Bread" Sherman. His own discography includes the album Hangin' on a String (1994). Lawrence toured internationally in Japan, Europe, and the Virgin Islands. He passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2021.
