Rodolfo Biagi, born on March 14, 1906 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, was a pianist, composer, and orchestra conductor known for his contributions to tango music. He began his musical journey at the age of 13, playing piano in a neighborhood cinema and later joining Juan Maglio's ensemble at Café El Nacional. In 1935, Biagi joined Juan D'Arienzoâs orchestra as a pianist, recording 71 pieces with them until 1938. His distinctive style favored dancers with a fast rhythm, earning him the nickname "manos brujas" ("magic hands"). He founded his own orquesta tÃpica in 1938 and debuted at the Marabú cabaret. Biagi's orchestra featured notable singers like Teófilo Ibáñez and Jorge Ortiz, and he composed memorable tangos such as "Indiferencia" and "Campo afuera". His orchestra was also the first to appear on Argentine television. Rodolfo Biagi passed away on September 24, 1969.
