Biography

ROAD OF MAJOR (often abbreviated as ROM) was a Japanese rock band formed in 2002 through the TV Tokyo program Hamaraja. They made an instant impact with their indie debut single ”Taisetsu na Mono”, which stayed in the Oricon Top 10 for 19 weeks. In 2003, their first album ROAD OF MAJOR became the first indie debut album to hit No. 1 on the charts. The band continued to build momentum with singles like "Bokura Dake no Uta"(2003) and by embarking on nationwide tours. In 2004, ROAD OF MAJOR made their major debut with the single "Kokoro-e", establishing their own label under Cutting Edge. They maintained a steady release schedule, putting out singles such as "Guzen to Iu Na no Hitsuzensei"(2005) and albums like ROAD OF MAJOR II (2005). In 2006 and 2007, they released more singles, a live DVD, and a best album titled GOLDEN ROAD ~BEST~. However, in July 2007, they announced their breakup, releasing a final DVD and remix album before officially disbanding. Even after disbandment, members occasionally reunited, appearing together in live streams and TV programs. In 2023, they surprised fans with a live performance of "Taisetsu na Mono" on the show Love it!, marking their first full TV appearance together since their breakup.
