Rita Connolly, born in Dublin, Ireland, is a soprano known for her contributions to classical music and traditional Irish singing. At 14, she began performing with her sisters as The Connolly Sisters, releasing their first album Ten Years On in 1977. Connolly's breakthrough came when she met composer Shaun Davey, leading to collaborations on symphonic works such as The Pilgrim (1983), Granuaile (1985), and The Relief of Derry Symphony (1990). She released two solo albums, Rita Connolly in 1992 and Valparaiso in 1995. In 2003, she contributed to the hymn "May We Never Have to Say Goodbye" for the Summer World Games opening ceremony, which was widely acclaimed.
