Nicole Yasterbelsky, known professionally as Rita Cadillac, was born on May 18, 1936, in Paris, France. She began her career at the age of 13 under the pseudonym Rita Rella, performing accordion music locally. In 1951, she was discovered by Alain Bernardin and hired at the Crazy Horse cabaret, where she adopted the stage name Rita Cadillac. Her performances there established a sophisticated style that became synonymous with the venue. Cadillac's career expanded into singing and acting. She released several singles in the late 1950s and early 1960s, including "Ne Comptez Pas Sur Moi" and "Personnalité" by Lloyd Price (1959) and "Souvenirs, souvenirs" (1960), which was also recorded by Johnny Hallyday. In 1969, she recorded the song "Erotica", in which she mimed an orgasm to a musical background. In 1974, she appeared in the theatrical production Oh! Calcutta! at the Ãlysée-Montmartre. Her filmography includes roles in Soirs de Paris (1953), Me faire ça à moi (1960), and Das Boot (1981). She also ventured into astrology and therapy, opening a practice in Deauville before her death on April 4, 1995.
