Biography

Raspigaous, also known as Raspi, is a French reggae and ska group from Marseille, formed in 1997. The band grew to about 15 musicians led by Lionel "Léo" Achenza and Marie "Sista Chance" Riou. Their debut album Chaud Time was released in 1999 and became a staple in the French reggae scene. The group's second album, Chiens des quais, reached number 117 on the French charts in 2002. Despite major label offers, Raspigaous remained independent. Their third album, Mauvaise herbe, was released in 2005. After a hiatus from 2007 to 2013, Raspigaous reunited and released an EP titled Haut et fort in 2014. Their fourth album, Nouvel R, came out in 2019. The group celebrated their 25th year anniversary with a tour in February 2022.
