Biography
Rádio Macau is a Portuguese alternative rock and pop band formed in 1983 by vocalist Xana, guitarist Flak, and bassist Alex. The group was completed with the addition of keyboardist Filipe Valentim and drummer Emanuel Ramalho, subsequently performing concerts at the Rock Rendez-Vous in Lisbon. The band's debut album, Rádio Macau, was released in June 1984, followed by the single âA Vida Num Só Diaâ (1985). Their major commercial breakthrough came with their third studio album, O Elevador da Glória (1987), which became their best-selling record and featured the hit song âO Anzolâ. The group temporarily disbanded in 1993 due to exhaustion but reunited in 1998. Their eighth studio album, 8 (2008), peaked at number 8 on the Portuguese charts.
