Biography

Qango was an English progressive rock band formed in 1999, emerging from a failed reunion attempt of the band Asia. The group consisted of John Wetton, Carl Palmer, and Dave Kilminster, with John Young on keyboards. Their formation followed the dissolution of Emerson, Lake & Palmer and the inability to reunite all original members of Asia due to contractual issues and personal conflicts. Qango's debut album, Live in the Hood, was released in 2000, capturing performances from February 2000 concerts at the Robin Hood in Birmingham and the Brook in Southampton. The album featured a mix of Asia and Emerson, Lake & Palmer covers, along with original compositions. Despite plans for further tours and a studio album, Qango disbanded in 2000.
